A simple mathematical equation simply used to describe Advertlets, one of Asia's Blog Advertising network. Indeed, anything that brings in the dough, will make us happy but that's not the point. Its slightly different from Adsense, Adbrite, YPN publisher or other CPC network in a way that it works in getting ads specifically suited to your website content.Alright, we admit, from the looks of the Advertlets ads on our website, it might not be so relevant. But who's to blame, this advertising network is still young and it needs some time to establish itself.
Who uses Advertlets?Advertlets is for both advertisers and publishers. Yes! Advertisers too! I bet you guys forget about that part didn't you.
1) Through Advertlets, you get a demographics breakdown of each blog - this way you know what kind of visitors each blog attracts. You can view statistics such as gender breakdown, profession, age range, and also whether or not visitors are bloggers themselves.2) You can view which country your visitors are coming from (Coming Q3 2007: View by State - eg, Selangor, Pahang, Johor).
3) You know which blog brings you the most traffic.
4) You know what your click to impression ratios are.
5) You can measure the effectiveness of your campaign through our impression/click tracking facilities.
6) They will give you the best recommendation on which blogs are suitable for your message to go on.
7) They can put together a custom campaign for your brand - giving you more exposure than just advertising. Have a sponsored post (sort of like advertorials for blogs - subject to consent from individual bloggers), or even run sponsored polls (customize your own questions!) where you can find out what blog visitors think. Run a contest. Reward visitors who click, or recommend your product to a friend.
8) You support a system which rewards local micro-content publishers, and benefit from the positive brand association.
What does the Advertlets Ads looks like?
They come in the forms of Banner Ads, Textual Ads, Poll+Advert, Video Advert and lastly Sponsored Posts.Detail comparision between Advertlets and other CPC network program.
Pros..
1) Easy setup page and user friendly interface
2) Copy and pasting of code is made easy without having to enter any keywords for the ads.
3) Publisher able to earn as the ads are targeted and related to their contents compared to program such as Adsense or YPN Publisher.
Cons..
1) Only 1 ads at the sidebar for a 160 x 600. Instead could add at least 2-3 more so that the visitors are able to choose which ads really interest them.
2) Lack advertisers from overseas. In order for Advertlets to break into Asian market, they could find more advertisers from other countries.
Overall, I think that it worth giving a chance to try for Advertlets. Everyone, no matter what kind of traffic your blog you have, either small or high, you still get to earn with Advertlets. Why wait? Sign up now! It could be the next big Asia CPC network.
How will I get the money?
They will pay you by either cash or cheque once your account balance reaches the minimum payout rate of RM100. Currently you can only cashout via cheque. In the future they will offer Maybank2u (for those with Maybank2u accounts), and also prepaid reloads (currently only for Maxis Hotlink and Celcom Xpax) cashouts. For prepaid mobile users, you will not need to wait for them to send you a physical reload card. Your reload number can be sent to your e-mail. But you have to wait 15-30 days for payment.
That's all we @ Fun Distraction have to say for Advertlets. We would definitely recommend it to Singaporean and Malaysian bloggers for its local flavor content, and that its relevance is definitely one-up as compared to the other networks.
