Will New Found Attempts Bring Mobile Coupon Usage to the Forefront of Mobile Technology?

1:21 PM by Zaini · 0 comments

With mobile coupons already being used by most of the public in Europe and Asia, it is inevitable that Americans will follow suit... the real question is “when”. BoostBargains innovates mobile coupon usage in the usage.

Once just used for simple person-to-person contact, the mobile phone has grown up a lot since its introduction in the 90's. Texting made conversing easier when one person is otherwise occupied. Navigation apps gave directions when one was lost. Pandora's music application allowed one to listen to their favorite tunes anytime they wanted. iPhone's started to stream full movies in HD quality. And now, cell phones now offer so many more advanced options, coming a very, very long way.
Early this year, BoostBargains launched its Nationwide Mobile Coupons Campaign. Essentially, the campaign is depicted as a provider of discount codes and coupons found in newspaper and media publications across the country (claimed to sum to an upwards of 150,000 coupons) channeled 24/7 via mobile device. However, in addition to its lack of popularity in the US, the concept of mobile coupons is not new by any means. Since 2008, other large US mobile coupon providers have unsuccessfully attempted to push the gamut.

Shortly after its introduction, criticism of mobile coupons began with the credibility of the coupons actually working. Due to location restrictions, the majority of promo and discount codes were usually hit or miss. To make matters worse, most of the "exclusive coupons" STILL required the user to print the coupon out; naturally making the concept of on-the-go mobile coupons pointless at times.

BoostBargains responded with a unique platform, which allows users to see where each mobile coupon can be used in the US. In an effort to build a foundation around "accurate and current" coupons, BoostBargains is on a mission to get mobile coupons the notoriety deserved. They also eliminate the printing inconvenience, by having all bar-coded coupons scan-ready directly from your phone screen at the cashier, which sounds great.

With mobile coupons already being used by most of the public in Europe and Asia, it is inevitable that Americans will follow suit... the real question is when? Will some of the newer mobile coupon providers, namely BoostBargains, finally put mobile coupons on the cutting-edge in America with its improvements? Only time will tell.

Rebecca Black exposed as fake

Teen music sensation Rebecca Black and her internet hit Friday are actually a viral marketing campaign for a new movie, it has been revealed.

A press statement from Universal Studios says Rebecca Black is a character from the family movie The Music Factory, due for release on April 29.

Little-known 15-year-old actress Jessica Jones, who has portrayed Black in the Friday music video and in several television appearances, stars in the film.

The Music Factory, directed by Home Alone's Chris Columbus, is about a secret facility where cyborgs resembling young teenagers are created and turned into pop stars.

The film also features R&B star Usher as a shady record producer.

The Rebecca Black song Friday became a huge hit over the last month, garnering over 92 million hits on YouTube.

The sheer absurdity of the lyrics and video have inspired a host of parodies, a swarm of criticism and even death threats against the fictitious Black.

Some observers have suggested the song is a joke, but few could have imagined it was a viral marketing campaign.

More information will be revealed in the first official trailer, to be released next week.
